The Summer Tour Featuring Rock Legends Kiss & Def Leppard comes to Darien Lake Performing Arts Center
Decades ago, no one would have imagined that KISS and Def Leppard would ever hit the stage together. While the bands have always been civil, they are two legends that would never need to tour with another artist, but here we are in the summer that has made history. The tour was announced in March. This is a 40-date tour that will end on August 31st and has just begun on June 23rd.
Def Leppard has, thus far, taken stage first and has ignited the crowd with hits from their two most famous albums: Pyromania and Hysteria. The night will likely begin with the “Let It Go” track that all rock fans will instantly recognize. Reviews of the show have already been pouring in with many fans and critics saying that the band sounds just as good now as they did in the 80s.
KISS will be playing both old and new favorites alike. While some fans are upset to hear that the newer, less popular songs will be played, KISS has made sure that only the best songs will be played during this tour. You will hear “God of Thunder,” “Love Gun,” and “Hide Your Heart.” The one song that will ignite the crowd most is, of course, “Shout It Out Loud.”
Fans of both groups will be happy to know that the same visual effects that have forged these two group’s tours over the years will be included. Fire, visual mania and all of the fan favorites from the 1980s will be heard.
One thing that is evident during the tour is that fans have already chosen their alliance. There is a strong rivalry between KISS and Def Leppard fans, but this adds to the show’s ambiance and mayhem. Seeing two legendary bands of this caliber hit the stage together is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
