The 2014 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival: Korn, Avenged Sevenfold & Asking Alexandria kicks off July 5 in San Bernardino, CA. The annual tour will hit cities throughout the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up in Woodlands, TX on August 10. The festival comes to Darien Lake Performing Arts Center this July.
Some of the biggest names in metal will hit the stage during the tour, including Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Trivium, Asking Alexandria, Cannibal Corpse, Miss May I, Body Count, Mushroomhead, Texas Hippie Coalition, Wretched, Upon a Burning Body, Veil of Maya, Emmure, King 810, Erimha and more. The tour’s lineup varies by date, so concertgoers will need to check their local date to find the exact lineup for their show.
Avenged Sevenfold is headlining the tour. Korn is celebrating 20 years together in 2014 and have recently released a new album The Paradigm Shift. This makes this year’s Mayhem Festival a special event for the funk-metal band.
The festival promises four stages this year. In addition to the Mayhem Fest main stage, there will also be the Sumerian Records stage, Coldcock Whiskey stage and the Victory Records stage. These four stages allow up to 20 bands to play. A motorsports exhibition will also take place with the pro motocross star Jimmy Fitzpatrick making an appearance. Festival-goers can expect plenty of surprises and excitement throughout the festival.
Fans can purchase special VIP packages that gives them premium and early access as well as access to the lounge, a VIP laminate and a host of other goodies. Proceeds from the VIP packages will be put towards the Metal of Honor military charities Hope for the Warriors and The Pathway Home.
The Mayhem Festival has been sponsored by the Rockstar Energy Company since its opening year in 2008. The festival is arranged by John Reese and Kevin Lyman, the founder of the Vans Warped Tour.
