2014 Mechanical Bull Tour Featuring Kings of Leon, Young the Giant and Kongos

Kings of Leon announced their tour in October of 2013 and fans were shocked to hear that the tour would have a total of 73 shows. First beginning in Atlanta, the tour will be going across North America with 60 total shows, including one on August 19th at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, a stop in Asia for one show and a stop in Europe for 12 shows in total. In all, this 5 leg tour will have 3 legs in North America.

Kings of Leon is on tour to promote their sixth album titled Mechanical Bull. The current set list has a total of 26 songs with 3 encore performances. Fan favorites, such as “Sex on Fire,” “Radioactive,” “The Immortals” and “Use Somebody” will all be heard. The first two North American legs of the tour featured opening acts Gary Clark Jr. and the Local Natives. Now, the third leg will feature Young the Giant and Kongos. The third leg begins on July 31st and ends on October 5th.

Young the Giant is an Indie rock band from California that is best known for “My Body” and “Cough Syrup,” which were both released in 2011. Other songs that will be played include “Mind of Matter” and “It’s About Time.” Young the Giant brings a lot of energy to the stage and will welcome The Kongos.

The Kongos are an alternative band of brothers that comes from South Africa. The band has had two albums “Kongos” and “Lunatic,” the latter which had a 2013 United States release. Some of the bands most popular songs include “I’m Only Joking” and “Come With Me Now.” Signed to Epic Records, this band is on its way to stardom and brings a unique sound to the tour.

One of the best moments from the previous legs of the tour came when “Cold Desert” was performed. During the performance, fans are greeted with a beautiful confetti-like snow that is simply stunning.
